FAQs about the Rotaract Club of Columbus

Below are some frequently asked questions about Rotaract Club. If you do not find the information you are looking for, please contact the President, Heather Mills at president@columbusrotaract.org.
What is Rotaract?
Rotaract is a youth program of Rotary International. It is a service oriented club enabling young people to network and be more involved in their communities. Columbus Rotaract is sponsored by Columbus Rotary, one of the largest Rotary club's worldwide.
What does Rotaract do?
Rotaract does many different things within the community that we work and play. We participate in fundraising and volunteer activities for causes we believe in, both locally and internationally. We host monthly professional development speakers, organize networking events, and participate in leadership seminars. We also build fellowship though social happy hours, participating in seasonal sports leagues, attending Columbus Blue Jackets games, and more!
How old must I be to be a member?
Rotaract members typically range between the ages of 18 and 30 years of age. Beyond the age of 30, members have the opportunity of joining Columbus Rotary through our transition program (or may choose to stay involved with Rotaract).
What are the requirements to be a member?
Membership requires 60% attendance. International Rotaract requirements clearly state that to be considered an active member of Rotaract, you must attend 60 percent of all Rotaract events. We will continue to offer an average of three activities per month (our club meeting, leadership luncheon and at least one service or social event) and will be sure to take attendance at each event. By attending an average of one event per month (whether it be a monthly meeting, service event, luncheon, or social) it is easy to meet this requirement.
What are the fees for Rotaract?
There is annual fee of $50 per member. As a chartered club we are responsible for managing our own funds.
Annual dues will be used to cover club expenses and charitable contributions only, and all uses will be fully disclosed during regularly scheduled meetings. However, by no means should dues discourage your participation. If meeting the dues requirement would prohibit your membership in Rotaract, contact an officer directly and we will make arrangements with you so that you can remain fully active.
How do I become a member?
